Our Story & Where it ALL BEGAN

For every “avoid politics at all costs” we say commence!

A hand holding a card deck in a red box with Arabic and English text, and a black and red box on a wooden table.

A conversation worth having.

Our first card game “L3aba Siyese” (Arabic for “Play it Politics”) designed to ignite and encourage difficult conversations related to politics in Lebanon.

When you sold out our stock in 8 months, we knew we’d found a way forward. For more than one country, we’d found a country-agnostic way forward.

Since then, we’ve set out to inspire a global community of commencers to build a tool kit for a more informed, and meaningful political life.

This is where Commence Games comes to play. We don’t tell you left from right, that’s not our job. We just give you the tools to analyze, understand, and engage in the meaningful way you see fit.

Play it political.

“I’m going to create a game about politics. Maybe then we wouldn’t be scared of it anymore.” — that was the day Commence Games came to be.

And since that very sentence, our target was crystal clear; gamify to re-engage. It is not to just play and have fun; but about building a mindset and toolbox to find our way back to politics. And, if I've done my job right, I hope one of our tools helps you along your way.

So thank you, for playing, coming back for more, joining our events. You’ve made Commence the studio it is today!

Now, let’s play it political — we’ve got more impact up our sleeves!
